Introduction

LinuxICE (In Car Entertainment) is a full featured operating system designed for car PC systems. It combines the "big four" of car infotainment: Media playback, Navigation, Car Statistics, and Connectivity with other devices. LinuxICE combines the power and functionality of the Ubuntu distribution with all the non-essential packages stripped away for the best experience on hardware designed for car enviroments. Under the hood, LinuxICE is simply a remastered version of Ubuntu and is 100% binary equal with the base Ubuntu core.


The goal of LinuxICE is to wrap all of the essentials required to run in an CarPC environment in a singe distribution that is easy to use and easy to expand.
